THE EDIT - STYLE TRENDS FROM THE FASHION WEEK 2016 CATWALKS

Dutch weather was blowing hot and cold over these last few weeks and just when you thought you could store your summer clothes the weather was all warm en summery again. But autumn is definitely in the air. So UNC got you the key style trends from the New York, London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks. What were the takeaways from the fashion shows? Besides al lot of velvet, statement furs, schoolgirl uniforms and one-arm tops, here are UNC’s style trends from the autumn/winter 2016 catwalks.

Embrace knit and sweaters
You’re in luck, thanks to Balenciaga and Stella McCartney the workaday fashion came to Paris Fashion Week, from bomber jackets to (varsity) sweaters. We are not a fan of the bomber jackets, but sweaters and jumpers we like! Stella McCartney showed some knit innovation on the runway: soft and unstructured, but all super cosy. So comfort is still key for fall 2016. Keep it low key and stay warm this autumn, go for a grey jumper or elegant off-white sweater.

Earrings
Giant ear pieces were on every catwalk. From the unwearable but artistic earrings shown at the Loewe catwalks to the long earrings of Roberto Cavalli. Check out our own Moss Copenhagen earrings, especially the ones you can wear as a single piece.

Overcoat
The navy overcoat was seen on the catwalks of Prada and Tommy Hilfiger. Little harder to manage for the shorter women, but hooray to high heels!

Ochre Yellow
The color (ochre) yellow was seen on the different catwalks and of course Sies Marjan really went for it. We love the contrast with the darker colors that we usually see during the cold weather months.
